Bens Review:
1. YOGHURT AND CHIVE CRISPS: These crisps seemed daunting to me before I dared to open them due to one of the flavourings being yoghurt, however, once I opened them I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were very similar to sour cream and onion pringles but with an extra tang. They had a nice strong flavour and a desirable crunch that all crisps should aspire for. These would be a great snack for late night tv binging, 8/10.
2. CRAX PRETZEL STICKS: These pretzel sticks were delicious, they tasted like they were covered in the seasoning of a past family roast chicken dinner, that's all I have to say on these lovely herby sticks of wonder, 7/10.
3. TURKISH DELIGHTS: The ice queen can keep her Turkish delights and shove them where the sun don't shine, for I ain't no Edmund of Narnia. These chewy cubes of mystery were off to a bad start as I have never enjoyed Turkish delights too much. Objectively, out of all Turkish delights I have sampled these were far and beyond the best, yet still not to my taste, 3/10.
4. CANNED DRINK: Originally I was sure this drink would be fizzy and top my list (perhaps due to my nil understanding of the Turkish language) but in a surprising twist it turns out to be a still beverage. The taste was mostly attributable to a KA fruit punch but without the kick of carbonation that I have come to expect. I loved the subtle fruity flavours and it went down very smoothly although I did find myself wishing for a can filled with some bubbles. Overall I would have to rate this drink a 7/10.
5. DORE CREAM PIE BISCUITS: Nice, but verging on the side of average. I found the taste to be pretty good as it was essentially a small digestive with some chocolate and creamy icing. A tasty treat but lacking any memorable qualities that would persuade me to purchase them over a penguin bar or something similar, 5/10.
6. POP KEK LEMON CAKE: A sweet citrus shocker. Anxiety surrounded this for me because I knew it was a cake that must have taken a long time to be transported to us, although it tasted fresh as the day it was made. Very stodgy and dense with just enough lemon flavour, chewing into this spongey pudding was a very pleasurable fruity experience and the texture was awesome, landing it with an 8/10 rating.
7. BEBETO CHEESECAKE SWEETS: If you are a fan of Haribo like me then you will love these sweets. Bursting with strawberry flavour and being very chewy, these little cakey sweets would be great to chew on when busy doing work or just chilling out. Delicious, 9/10.
8. BISCOLETTA CHOCO BISCUIT STICKS: The Turkish cousins of Mikado sticks. These tasted and felt exactly the same, so although these were incredibly tasty and creamy, I would recommend saving yourself a trip to turkey and instead pop into your local shop for some fun chocolate poles of Mikado, 7/10.
9. TOFITA ORANGE SWEETS: My favourite item on this list, I loved the tough chewy exterior that allows your teeth to repeatedly chomp down on the very orangey sweet. Just like British sweets such as chewits or starburst but in my opinion slightly better as the orange flavour really kicks hard, a definite would buy again, 10/10
10. METRO MINI CHOCOLATE BARS: What else can I say about these except that they are a delightful halfway house between a mars bar and a milky way. I mean what's not to love about that concept, you get the best of both worlds with a divine caramel layer drizzled over a thick bed of nougat then coated in delicious thin chocolate. We really should have these here, 9/10.
11, ULKER CHOCOLATE WAFER BAR: Now the problem I have with this wafer bar is that I can't remember it very well, thus it couldn't have been spectacular. It was a very plain run of the mill chocolate wafer bar, the sort that seems to reside in the back of every nan's cupboard just waiting to be eaten. A thin papery wafer surrounded by average milk chocolate, it was fine but nothing special and for that reason, it lands with a, 4/10.
12. PUFF MARSHMALLOW TREAT: My opinion on this is likely controversial as I can understand that some people would love this squidgy sugary snack, yet, it just doesn't float my boat. The set-up was different to lots of treats making it very unique which is a positive. Consisting of a thin biscuit at the bottom topped with a very sweet cloudy lump of marshmallow then sprinkled with coconut shavings, I could compare it to a wagon wheel without the chocolate. It tasted ok to me and had an original feel to it, but marshmallow has never been one to wow me, thus it receives a 5/10 on my humble scoring system, 5/10.
13. ETI PISTACHIO CHOCOLATE BAR: This bar was nuts (pun intended), the chocolate was so smooth and creamy like a Lindt bar and it tasted wonderful, the nuts were pretty flavourless and dry but they did add a nice dense crunch to the otherwise silky bar. I thoroughly enjoyed melting this bar in my mouth then eating the nuts so it deserves a solid, 8/10.
Hollys reviews:
1. YOGHURT AND CHIVE CRISPS: These crisps were so good. Sour cream and chive is one of my favourite flavours. I definitely want more. There is never enough in a packet! 10/10
2. CRAX PRETZEL STICKS: These pretzel sticks were incredible. They had a sort of chicken stock flavouring which was very moreish. They were the perfect snack. 9/10
3. TURKISH DELIGHTS: Yeah I'm never eating Turkish Delight again. The texture was just completely wrong. Squishy and powdery, a very bad combination. Their flavours were also very strange, and they didn't taste like they were supposed to. I always wanted some when watching Narnia as they made it look so good, but now I genuinely don't understand why people eat this. No thank you. 1/10
4. CANNED DRINK: This was almost like drinking a J20 in a can. It tasted so fruity and nice, although I was expecting it to be fizzy. 9/10
5. DORE CREAM PIE BISCUITS: These were nice. The combination of white and milk chocolate made them very easy to eat. However, they were quite small. 6/10
6. POP KEK LEMON CAKE: I'm usually not a big fan of the lemon flavour, but this changed my opinion. This little cake was full of strong lemony goodness and was just on the right level between light and stodgy. I'd very happily eat this again. 8/10
7. BEBETO CHEESECAKE SWEETS: I really need to find where I can buy another bag of these because these were INCREDIBLE. These genuinely tasted like strawberry cheesecake in haribo form. I can't find a fault with these little beauties. I WANT MORE10/10
8. BISCOLETTA CHOCO BISCUIT STICKS: I am a fan of Mikado sticks, and these were just like them. Yum 8/10
9. TOFITA ORANGE SWEETS: These were great. Just like orange starburst, bursting with strong orange flavour. Just the right amount of chewy. 9/10
10. METRO MINI CHOCOLATE BARS: These were very tasty. It can easily be compared to a Mars bar as it was full of chocolate and gooey caramel. 8/10
11, ULKER CHOCOLATE WAFER BAR: I genuinely can't remember eating this one. I recall it being chocolaty, but that's about as far as I can go. N/A
12. PUFF MARSHMALLOW TREAT: I actually really liked this one. I have never liked coconut, but the layer of coconut on top of the squishy marshmallow was so light in flavour that I didn't really notice it was there. The biscuit at the bottom was a bit too soft for my liking, but the whole thing put together was genuinely quite enjoyable. However, I don't think I would go out of my way to purchase this. 7/10
13. ETI PISTACHIO CHOCOLATE BAR: This was really good. The chocolate was really smooth and creamy, and the pistachios inside added a really nice crunch. There wasn't enough of it. 9/10
